Batch Editing in Lightroom Classic (Quick Beginner Guide)

Spread the love

Batch editing in Lightroom. Do you spend too much time editing your photos one by one in Lightroom?
In this quick tutorial, I’ll show you how to batch edit multiple photos at once. It’s one of the best ways to save time and keep your edits consistent.

What is Batch Editing in Lightroom Classic?

Batch editing is when you apply the edits from one photo to many others in just a few clicks. Instead of repeating the same adjustments over and over, Lightroom lets you sync or copy those edits so your whole set looks consistent.
It’s a huge time saver and perfect for shoots where the lighting and style stay similar.

Method 1: Auto Sync

1. Select the first photo you want to edit.
2. Hold Shift + Click to select additional photos.
3. Go to the Develop module and make your edits.
4. Enable the Auto Sync button.

Now every time you make an adjustment to the main photo, it will sync across all selected images.

👉 You can even sync AI masking — for skies, mountains, and vegetation. Adjusting the sky in one photo automatically updates the rest.

Method 2: Copy and Paste Settings

1. Edit your first photo with the adjustments you want.
2. Right-click the photo → Develop Settings → Copy Settings.
3. Choose which adjustments to copy (basic edits, masks, etc.).
4. Select your other photos, right-click → Develop Settings → Paste Settings.

This method is perfect for when you want to copy edits onto just a few images, not your entire selection.

Method 3: Apply Presets

If you already have a favorite look or style, presets make batch editing even faster.

1. Edit one photo.
2. Click Create Preset and save your adjustments.
3. Select the other photos, apply your preset in bulk.

Your edits — including AI masking — are instantly applied.

Why Batch Editing Saves Time

– Apply edits across dozens of photos in seconds.
– Keep a consistent look across a photoshoot.
– Speed up your workflow so you can spend more time shooting and less time editing.

Conclusion

That’s how you batch edit in Lightroom — fast, consistent, and a huge time saver.

👉 Try Auto Sync, Copy/Paste, and Presets to see which method works best for your workflow.
